In accord with the original meaning of the word, hospitals were originally "places of hospitality", and this meaning is still preserved in the names of some institutions such as the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

There are over 17,000 hospitals in the world.

Immunization Its Meaning And Immunization Schedule

Meaning Of Immunization:

Immunization  is the act of putting a small quantity of disease-producing virus into a person or an animal, so that their body will react against it and thus protect them from catching the disease. 


Immunization schedule

Age -At Birth
Vaccines-1.  BCG 
              2.  OPV zero 
              3.   Hepatitis B -1 

Age-  6 weeks
Vaccine-1.  OPV-1
               2.  DTP-1
              3.  Hepatitis B 
               4.  Hib -1

Age- 10 weeks
Vaccine- 1.  OPV-2
              2.   DTP-2
              3.   Hib -2

 Age-14 weeks
Vaccine-1.  OPV-3
             2.  DTPw-3
             3.  Hepatitis B -3
 (Third dose of Hepatitis B can be given at 6 months of age)
             4.  Hib -3

 Age-9 months
Vaccine- Measles

 Age15-18 months
Vaccine-1.  OPV booster dose-1
               2.  DTP booster dose-1
               3.  Hib booster dose
               4. MMR

 Age-2 years
Vaccine- Typhoid vaccin

Age-5 years
Vaccine- OPV  booster -2
                DTP booster -2
Age-10yrs and 16yrs
Vaccine-T.T

Optional Vaccine:

Age-15month
Vaccine-Varicella Vaccine(chicken pox)

Vaccine-Hepatitis A Vaccine 1st dose(After 6th month 2nd dose)

Note:
1. A dose of Hepatitis B vaccine within 12hours of birth is essential to prevent mother to child transmission.
2.If Hepetitis B vaccine is not given at birth 3doses can be given at 6,10,14 weeks.
3. Combine DTP/Hepatitis B/Hib vaccines can be given at 6,10,14 weeks.
4. BCG, OPV and Hepatitis B vaccines when missed at birth can be started after six weeks.
5. For Typhoid vaccine re vaccination is required  every 3-4 years.
6. In addition to routine OPV doses the recommended "Pulse OPV dose" are also mandatory during PPI campaigns.
7. 2 doses of Influenza vaccine are given when immunizing first time.
8. Any child who has not recieved 2nd  booster dose of DTP.at 4-6 years and is abobe 7 years can be given Tdap vaccine.
