Meaning Of Immunization:
Immunization is the act of putting a small quantity of disease-producing virus into a person or an animal, so that their body will react against it and thus protect them from catching the disease.

Note:
1. A dose of Hepatitis B vaccine within 12hours of birth is essential to prevent mother to child transmission.
2.If Hepetitis B vaccine is not given at birth 3doses can be given at 6,10,14 weeks.
3. Combine DTP/Hepatitis B/Hib vaccines can be given at 6,10,14 weeks.
4. BCG, OPV and Hepatitis B vaccines when missed at birth can be started after six weeks.
5. For Typhoid vaccine re vaccination is required every 3-4 years.
6. In addition to routine OPV doses the recommended "Pulse OPV dose" are also mandatory during PPI campaigns.
7. 2 doses of Influenza vaccine are given when immunizing first time.
8. Any child who has not recieved 2nd booster dose of DTP.at 4-6 years and is abobe 7 years can be given Tdap vaccine.
